Dr. Andrew Morris is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner from the University of Washington who strives to “meet clients where they are,” while working towards and establishing strong provider-client relationships. He believes that strong relationships, based on mutual respect, trust, and effective communication, are tantamount to the effective treatment and mitigation of client’s mental health challenges.
Dr. Morris is originally from Detroit, Michigan, spent most of his life in Southern California, and has been living in Western Washington for about thirteen years. His areas of interests include the adult manifestations of childhood trauma, increasing mental health services to lower income clients, and the reduction of psychiatric inpatient recidivism rates. Dr. Morris has worked in various mental health roles as a Mental Health Specialist, Registered Nurse, and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Southern California, Wales, UK, and Washington State, in both inpatient and outpatient settings. When he has free time, Dr. Morris enjoys learning to play guitar, live music, getting out in nature, and sailing.
